Senior Supply Shelf – The Municipality of Miltonvale Park has set up a small food and necessities supply shelf for seniors who live in the municipality, who are experiencing food insecurities during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Senior Supply Shelf will be in the Milton Community Hall, 7 New Glasgow Road and seniors can stop by during hall hours to pick up food and necessities. If a senior can not go to the Milton Community Hall to pick up necessities for any reason, we will have volunteers available to deliver items from the Senior Supply Shelf to seniors’ homes.

Tablets for Seniors

The Municipality of Miltonvale Park is buying six tablets to lend out to seniors in Miltonvale Park that are feeling isolated due to Covid-19. These tablets will help seniors connect with their friends and family online from their homes in times of isolation. Seniors will be able to borrow a tablet to take home and use. There will be a Tech Talk in September about tablets for seniors who have never used a tablet and are thinking of borrowing or buying one for themselves.  Please contact the Council Office at 902-368-3090, if you are or know a senior who might be interested.

 Non-Medical Fabric Face Masks

Reusable two ply, with a nose wire, fabric masks are available for free at the Milton Community Hall for Miltonvale Park residents who have returned their EMO survey (including those received last Fall/winter). Priority for masks is for seniors, if supplies become more limited. The EMO survey is online in the paper copy of the most recent newsletter. The electronic copy did not have space to ask if residents have any concerns about a possible second wave of COVID-19, so please feel free to note any suggestions or concerns anywhere there is space in the electronic survey.

Call the Council office 902 368-3090 or email admin@miltonvalepark.com to check for availability for masks. As the summer students have finished their work terms, the Council Office is now operating at reduced hours.

Drop in and Sew, Fabric Donations Welcome!

If you would like to donate your time and help us sew some masks, or wish to donate tightly woven cotton fabric, give us a call at 902-368-3090. We have sewing machines and supplies at the Milton Community Hall, and sewing could occur almost any time.  There is also an opportunity for secondary students to participate in the Community Service Bursary program, by helping make masks.
