Thanks to residents and neighbours who moved throughout June to help Miltonvale Park be crowned the most active Community in PEI in 2025 and win $15,000!

Miltonvale Park Focus:
Diversity of events – virtual component, diverse dances -different demographic; car show – different demographic
Accessible – free or low-cost, virtual, or at park, or hall, learn-to/beginner level, equipment provided or available to borrow
Virtual challenge events (Walk More than the Mayor and Walk to Mt. Milton) allowed residents to track their activity whenever and wherever they are.

Plans for the winnings: Not finalized, although we are hoping to develop Active Transportation Trails in Miltonvale Park. Other options include investing in upgrades to the community park or to expand current fitness programs.

Weekly Activities:
Line dancing – Margot Postma is teaching beginner line dancing on Mondays at 6:30 at the Milton Community Hall (June 2, 9, 16, & 23). The class is full. FREE
Waltz – Come learn how to Waltz on Fridays at 5 p.m. (June 6, 13, 20 & 27) at the Milton Community Hall with Jack and Susan Lessard from the Ballroom Barn. FREE. It is not too late to attend if you missed the first class.
Hip Hop Dance – Reequal Smith, Artistic Director from Oshun Dance Studios, will teach Hip Hop on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. All ages welcome – June, 13, 20 & 27 at the Milton Community Hall. FREE
Chair Step Dance – Sit down and tap your toes with Olivia Blacquiere on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at Milton Community Hall. (June 4,11, 18 & 25). FREE. It is not too late to attend if you missed the first class.
Virtual exercise class – Monday & Fridays at 9 a.m. June 2 at 9 a.m. Work out with others to an exercise class on the big screen. (No class Monday June 9) Cost – $1
Mat and Chair Yoga – Tuesdays – 8:45 a.m. on the mat (upstairs) and at 10:15 from a chair yoga (main floor) at Milton Community Hall led by Leone. $10 for Miltonvale Park residents and $12 -non-residents. Leone also offers Friday classes beginning at 7:55 for mat class and 9:15 chair (both upstairs). Cost $13 drop-in or contact lightlivingwithLeone@gmail.com for information on series pricing on Fridays.
Pole walking – Margie Cain is teaching a series of two “Learn to Pole Walk” sessions on Monday, June 9th at 9 a.m. and Friday, June 13th at 1 p.m. at Milton Community Hall. We may start a pole walking club if there is interest. The municipality also has poles to lend.FREE.
Pet Walks – Did you take your pet to the Dog Park or for a walk? Maybe you can offer to walk your neighbour’s pet.
Thursdays – Join the members of the North Milton WI for a beach walk. 6:30 p.m. at Rollings Pond – The parking lot just after the toll booth to the National Park on Church Hill Ave, in North Rustico. Weather permitting. For more information or to confirm, contact NorthMiltonWI@gmail.com.
Gardening – Are you digging in your garden or working in your yard? Come help at the Community Garden across the road from the Milton Community Hall. Contact admin@miltonvalepark.com for more information.
Pickleball lesson – Ernie Coles will introduce people to pickleball on Saturday, June 21, at 1 p.m. at Miltonvale Community Park (413 Sleepy Hollow Rd, Milton Station). Equipment is provided. Rain date – Saturday, June 28. FREE
Pickleball at the Park – Pickleball is also at the court! Individual activity – any time, at the park – or join the group who plays there regularly on their scheduled times:

Bike ride – A Group Bike Ride will take place on Saturday, June 14 at 7 pm (June 15 is a rain date) at the Confederation trail, North York River Road.
Virtual Walk to Mount Milton, BC – Come together as a community and see if we can reach Mt. Milton, B.C! This mountain’s summit is 5270 km away. This walk will take us across the Canadian provinces and on top of this beautiful snowy mountain. Sign up and track how many steps you take (or if you measure your activity a different way, you can track that too!).
