What is ParticipACTION?

ParticipACTION is Canada’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting physical activity and healthy living nationwide. Here in Miltonvale Park, PEI, we’re proud to be part of this movement towards a healthier and more active community.
We did it again!
Thanks to residents and neighbours who got active throughout June 2026, Miltonvale Park has been named Prince Edward Island’s Most Active Community for the second year in a row in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge, presented by Novo Nordisk. The win comes with $10,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives in our community, and follows the win in 2025, which saw Miltonvale Park receive $15,000.
Mayor Hal Parker shared his pride in the achievement: “Miltonvale Park residents and friends have worked and played very hard in June to reach this goal. We are especially proud to have won for PEI two years in a row! I love to see the connections people make as they exercise and move together. We may be a small municipality, but we are definitely a very active one, and we will continue to be active year-round.”
By the numbers:
$10,000 won to support local physical activity and sport initiatives.
4,148 people participated throughout the days of June.
9 community organizations took part.
427 km — walked and run by resident Dana Coles, the only resident to beat the Mayor’s own total.
Residents also completed a virtual walk to Milton, Saskatchewan
354 km — walked by Mayor Hal Parker in the Walk More than the Mayor Challenge.
