Miltonvale Park & Milton Community Hall – May 15, 2025

Weekly events: 

    • Coffee Club – Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. Open to all – Admission by donation of treats or coins.
      • There will be a Coffee Club on Victoria Day! 
    • Exercise Class– Wednesday AND Friday Seniors Fitness Classes with Michele at 9 a.m. Fee $6. Drop in for some chairs and balance fitness… and usually some laughs! Ends for the summer, May 30, 2025
    • TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meet at the Hall on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. For more information contact Joyce at 902-368-2055.
    • Mindfulness on the Mat – Yoga on the Mat with Leone – Tuesdays and Fridays 8:45 mat yoga ~ and 10:15 am for Yoga on the Chair. 
      • Tuesday classes are hosted by Miltonvale Park and cost $10 for Miltonvale Park residents,$12 for others (Drop-in) on Tuesdays. 
      • Contact LightLivingWithLeone@gmail.com for information on Friday classes, which are $13 drop-in fee or are also priced for a series of classes. Chair Yoga classes on Tuesdays are held on the main level when possible.
    • Zumba – with Natalia –Zumba fitness classes are weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. at the hall; $2 for residents, $5 for non-residents. Contact MiltonMVPs@gmail.com to sign up.
    • Sunday Night Movies – Most Sunday evenings at 6:30. Free for Miltonvale Park residents and by donation for others.
  • Pickleball – Starting May 17th the Miltonvale Pickleball Club will be resuming play at the Miltonvale Community Park (413 Sleepy Hollow Rd.) 
  •  Weekly Schedule: 
    • Sunday Afternoons 1 pm-3 pm open play;
    • Monday evenings 6 pm-8 pm open play 
    • Tuesday morning 9 am-12 pm open play. 
    • Wednesday evenings 6 pm-8 pm open play 
    • Thursday morning 9 am-12 pm open play
    • Friday evening 6 pm-8 pm open play
    • Saturday morning 9 am-12 pm open play 
    • If sufficient people are not there by 10 minutes after start time there will be no play.
    • The rates are $30 for the season, and $3 drop-in. Players must be paid up 2025 members of Pickleball Canada. Dues may be paid by e-transfer to Ernie at colesernie@bellaliant.net or at the court to any committee member and please also provide your Pickleball Canada Number in the comments or a separate email to colesernie@bellaliant.net or miltonvalepickleballclub@gmail.com

Knitting – There is NO knitting class on May 21 due to a previous booking of the room.

Weekly card parties – Come play Auction on Thursdays, beginning June 3 at 7:30. Admission -$4.

 

Special Events:

Saturday, May 17 from 8-1 -There is a fundraising yard sale for Special Olympics. Admission is $2 or $4 family. For more information or to book a table ($20) -call 902-388-0261.

Sunday, May 18 from 6:30 – 8:30 Sunday night movie – “Blackberry” Free for Miltonvale Park residents and by donations for others. 

The Municipal Office will be closed on Victoria Day, and the hall will not be staffed.

Wednesday, May 21 – Municipal Council Meeting – 7 p.m. Please RSVP to admin@miltonvalepark.com if you plan to attend.

The Sunday step dancing classes for children planned for Sundays – May 25-July 6 have been moved to the fall. 

Sunday, May 25 from 6:30 – 8:30 Sunday night movie – “Crazy Rich Asians” 

Monday, May 26 at  7 p.m. – Milton Community Hall Board Meeting. 

Tues., May 27 at 1 p.m. – International Cooking with Margaret Prouse. Free for Miltonvale Park residents and by donation for others, if space is available. Funded in part by the Province of Prince Edward Island. RSVP to admin@miltonvalepark.com by Friday, May 23.

Thurs., May 29 – 5 p.m. Supper Club Miltonvale Park’s CHAT and GBT -Growing Better Together Project will see approximately 40 Miltonvale Park seniors come together to cook and eat supper and an activity nine times over the next year. Funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program. 

June – ParticipACTION and their Community Better Challenge will once again see Miltonvale Park residents and friends try to win Canada’s Most Active Community (We are really aiming to win PEI!!) We are planning some dance classes, pole walking, the annual Move More than the Mayor contest and a virtual walk across this great country to Mount Milton in BC! Watch for details. FREE Beginner line dancing will take place on Mondays from 6:30 -8 p.m. June 2,9,16, and 23. Miltonvale Park residents have priority registration, but others are welcome to submit their names in case there is space for non-residents. admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090

Knitting Classes with Stella begin again on 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays on June 4. To register for this beginner class, please email MiltonMVPs@gmail.com. Free for residents and by donation for others.

Reserve Saturday, June 7 for the second anniversary celebration of the Milton MVPs project – tentatively scheduled from 12-2! More details to follow. 

Garden Club – Will meet every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Next meeting is June 10th. They also have a private Facebook group. If you are interested in taking part in the community garden (e.g. helping, having a plot), please contact Ryan at 902-368-3090 or Gardenatmvp@gmail.com 

Wednesday, June 11 – from 1-2 p.m. Come Try Bilingual Music and Movement Class for Little Ones (0-6) and their favourite grown up. FREE For Miltonvale Park children and $5 for others, if space is available. Register at MiltonMVPs@gmail.com

Miltonvale Park Car Show – Saturday, June 14 from 12-4 at CMP Parking Lot, North York River Road, Rain date -Sunday, June 15. Admission is $2/person or $5/family or donations to the Food Bank. Live music! Vehicle Registration is $20 or $15 if done in advance to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MVPCAR. Funds raised will be donated to the Upper Room Food Bank. 

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY- Miltonvale Park is looking for someone connected to the community to host the canteen. Food Safety Certification is required. For more details, please contact admin@miltonvalepark.com.

Wednesday, June 18, 7-8 p.m. Understanding Your Sleep Struggles: A New Perspective with Carol Richard, Sleep Coach. The Come Try class is FREE for Miltonvale Park residents; $5, for others, if space is available. If there is enough interest, the Milton MVPs program will offer a 6-week Journey to Better Sleep Class on the Wednesdays that follow. Register at MiltonMVPs@gmail.com. 

Small Halls -Milton Melodies –7:30, Saturday, June 21, 2025 · $35, Milton Community Hall. Indigenous singer-songwriter Joe H Henry. Sharing the stage is Lucy Farrell and Catherine MacLellan. https://smallhalls.com/schedule. Save the service fees and buy your tickets at the hall. 

Canada Day – Plan to celebrate Canada Day (Tuesday, July 1) with Miltonvale Park at the Community Park (Rain location- Milton Community Hall) for a BBQ, and Canada Day cake,  live music, face painting, bouncy castle, and games from 11:30 -2:30. Funded in part by the Government of Canada through the Celebrate Canada Program. 

Students – Elesea Glenn is back working for the hall again this summer, and Zachary Addison has started with the municipality this week. Zach, who is a student at UPEI, but grew up in NB,  is the grandson of Doris MacKenzie (North Milton) so has lots of relatives in the area! He will be at the Council Office now and the Community Park, later in the summer. They are both off to a great start!

The office may be open other hours by chance or appointment. The Development Officer is in on Wednesdays from 10am-2pm or call the office to make an appointment.
