The Province is holding Land Use Consultations until March 20.

Island residents are invited to take part in the next phase of public engagement on the future of land use in Prince Edward Island.

Engagement will run to March 20, 2026, and will help the province understand Islanders’ priorities as PEI grows and changes.

“Island residents know their communities best and their voices are essential in shaping a land use strategy that supports affordability, sustainability and resilience. This process is about listening. The feedback we gather will help guide decisions that reflect Islanders’ priorities, community needs, and the values we share.”

— Land and Environment Minister Darlene Compton

PS

These are the questions in the survey – in case you want to see them and mull them over before you are faced with them!

Miltonvale Park has been under the restrictive Charlottetown Special Planning Area for over 30 years… so that may be something to keep in mind if you have a chance to comment!

Prince Edward Island is growing and changing, and how land is used today will shape the Island for generations to come. This survey is part of Phase 2 of the Province’s land use engagement. It focuses on looking ahead to imagine what a resilient, affordable, and thriving future for PEI could look like.

This phase is about hearing from Islanders and understanding the values and priorities that should guide any further land use decisions.

What kind of future do Islanders want and how should land be protected, planned and used to get us there?

Our goal is to ensure that any future direction is grounded in the experience, priorities, and insights shared by people across the Island – not rushed, not predetermined, and not decided without meaningful public input.

Please be advised that this survey is intended to be completely anonymous without collection of personal or identifiable information about individuals. No personal or identifiable information should be provided in response to any of the open-ended questions in this survey. Please start the survey now by clicking on the Next button below.
