Broadband Service to Miltonvale Park – NOW AVAILABLE FOR STAGE ONE

Stage One as listed below is now available to residents. Please contact BellAliant for further information on prices, packages and installation if you are interested.

This Notional Allocation – Capital Investment Plan Project has received funding through the Canada Prince Edward Island Gas Tax Program which is managed by the Prince Edward Island Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy.

Other funds for the project are being contributed by the municipality and Bell Aliant.

Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park issued a Request for Proposals with a deadline of February 26, 2018. Information about the RFP follows below.

Three proposals were received and a contract was made with Bell Aliant to provide fiber op to 209 properties in the municipality at an approximate cost of $203,000.

It is anticipated that further stages will be addressed in 2019 – depending on the wishes of the new Council (elected November 5, 2018), the outcome of the Province’s RFP and the availability of the next allotment of Gas Tax funding.

Broadband Service to the Municipality of Miltonvale Park (RFP-MVP2018-01)

Deadline – February 26, 2018

This Request for Proposals (the RFP) is an invitation by the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park (the Municipality) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the construction of infrastructure and the provision of internet service with a minimum download speed of 50 megabits per second (Mbps) and a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps with an unlimited data allowance to as many properties as possible in the municipality which are not already able to reach this level of service – by February 20, 2019.

Incorporated in 1974, includes the areas of North Milton, Milton Station, Springvale, South Milton and Sleepy Hollow. We have approximately 1190 residents.
