Former municipal councillor Lindsey Rhynes is the PEI representative for Raising the Roof and is organizing a fundraising event overnight at the Milton Community Hall on Tuesday, February 7.

The fundraising will bring further supports for those experiencing/at-risk of experiencing homelessness, to PEI. The number of Islanders experiencing homelessness in our province is unfortunately only growing.  Her goal is to bring Raising the Roof‘s “Reside” program to PEI. Reside turns vacant properties/buildings into new affordable housing units for people experiencing/at-risk of experiencing homelessness, while using the construction as a vehicle to train and employ people with barriers to employment in the trades.

Some of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be going towards the youth homelessness prevention programs at the Boys and Girls Club in Charlottetown and Montague. This fundraiser will be happening in cities across the country on February 7th -Toque Tuesday. Lindsey is looking for guest speakers, sponsors, and participants. If people would like to help make a difference, donations to her campaign can be made here: https://p2p.charityengine.net/…/individual/Lindsey-Rhynes1

Please reach out to Lindsey if you would like more information. [email protected]
