Miltonvale Park and Milton Community Hall Activities – November 1, 2019

 There is an Island Fabric Frenzy at the Milton Community Hall from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. Admission -$2 -Fabric, thread, notions, patterns, scissor sharpening & more.

 Phase II and Friends will hold a dance on Saturday, November 2, from 8:00 pm-11:00 pm. Admission is $12 at the door. This is a licensed event.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS in the wee hours of Sunday morning, Nov. 3. Turn your clocks back 1 hour.

Coffee –Get to know your neighbors each Monday and Friday from 10 -11a.m. at the Milton Community Hall. Coffee, tea, and snacks are available by donation of coin or treat!

*On Mondays from 1-3 p.m. Sewing and Craft Work Bee Sessions. Sewing machines are available but please bring whatever you are working on, or work on the community quilt project.

Seniors Fitness Classes are held on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 am- 10:00 am The focus of the class is balance and flexibility. Instructor Angelie Carter. Cost -$3. There will be no class on Remembrance Day.

Line Dancing – Mondays from 1:30-3:00. Cost $4 drop-in.

**Choral Singing – Continues Tuesday afternoons at 1:15 p.m. Director –Jill Garson. All welcome!

*Dance Classes – Waltz and Foxtrot – will take place on the four Tuesday evenings in November, beginning November 5 at 6:30 p.m. Instructors are the owners of the Ballroom Barn. Free for Miltonvale Park seniors. $10 for the series for non-residents. Please pre-register – admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090.

Chair yoga – Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. Cost $4 with Angelie Carter. Yoga mats provided if needed.

*The last of the weekly Ukulele Socials takes place on Wednesday, Nov 13 at 1:00 p.m.

**Basic Drawing Classes on Thursday afternoons with Nancy Hooper are full.

*Biscuit Making – November 14th, Thursday at 7:00 pm. Learn to make biscuits with Joyce and Shari. Please pre-register by Tuesday, November 12th admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090.  

St. John’s Anglican Church, Milton, will be holding their annual Christmas Ceilidh on Sunday night, November 17th at 7:00. Performers this year will be Frank Whitty, Selwyn MacAssey and Joanne Gass, Katelyn Doyle and John Gallant and the group “Spoken For”. Admission is $10.00 at the door.

North Milton Women’s Institute invites local ladies to their meeting – Monday, Nov. 18 at 7:00 pm at the Hall.

The annual Christmas Craft Fair is Sat. Nov. 30. From 9-2:30. Admission $2-adults. 12 & under -free

Sat. November 30 – Janet McGarry Concert. More details to follow.

Saturday, December 7 –Christmas Concert -with Phase II and Friends. More details to follow.

**Friday, December 13 -Afternoon Christmas Art Party -Cost $20 RSVP by Wed. Dec 11.

Wednesday, December 18 – 9:00 a.m. Christmas Baking Bee. RSVP by Monday, Dec 16.

Community Play – The Miltonvale Community Players are looking for people to take part in their play this year (late January). If you’ve ever wanted to act but never got the chance, email ktwilliamsjr@gmail.com

Municipal Council meetings are the 3rd Wednesday each month at 7:30. Planning Board meets the 2nd Wed. at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Council is hiring a new Development Officer, as Sandy Foy is retiring in December. The Deadline for applications is noon, Monday, Nov 4. Information on that, child bursaries, green initiative rebates, the new bylaws and more are on the new Council website – www.miltonvalepark.com.

Wednesdays: 9am-5pm
Fridays: 10am-12pm

The office may be open other hours by chance or appointment. The Development Officer is in on Wednesdays from 10am-2pm or call the office to make an appointment.
