Miltonvale Park and Milton Community Hall – May 29, 2026 -ParticipACTION!!

The ParticipACTION Edition!! Lots of FREE events in June!

(Events take place at the Milton Community Hall, unless noted)

JUNE is the ParticipACTION Community Challenge!

Can Miltonvale Park win PEI’s Most Active Community TWO years in a row… OR… even the Most Active Community in CANADA – which would see Miltonvale Park win $100,000!

The 2026 ParticipACTION Community Challenge presented by Novo Nordisk is back, and this year, it’s more fun with others! The Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport participation initiative encouraging all people living in Canada to make room to move throughout June. It recognizes Canada’s Most Active Community with a $100,000 prize, and one community in PEI will win $10,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives!

There are MANY opportunities to take part – and more ways to help Miltonvale Park win!  https://www.participaction.com/programs/community-challenge/

Please attend as many of our FREE events as you would like – and if you are already active in other ways, you can sign up as part of an active group and report this activity.  The “active group” category is for folks who walk with family or friends, golf with buddies, or bike ride with a partner, garden with your kids – or any activity that is not held through an organization, and involves at least two people.  Sign up with ParticipACTION https://www.participaction.com/signup/ and report throughout the month. PLEASE NOTE: ParticipACTION assigns people to communities according to postal codes, so if you would like to support Miltonvale Park, please register with a Miltonvale Park postal code – The hall’s is C1E 0S7. If you live in Miltonvale Park, but get your mail in Winsloe or Hampshire, and use their postal codes, that might include you in Charlottetown or Hampshire!

Almost ALL the active events will be FREE in June, due to the support from a grant to the Milton Community Hall from ParticipACTION, which is funded by the Government of Canada, the Milton MVPs Project, which is funded by the Government of Prince Edward Island through the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being, or the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park.

If spaces are limited, Miltonvale Park residents have priority registration.

TechNTalk sessions return to support older Islanders with digital literacy skills

Free information and technology sessions aimed at empowering older Islanders to learn more about their technological devices returns for a third year, starting next month.

TechNTalk sessions will be offered across the province from June until October. At each TechNTalk session, older adults (55 years and over) will receive a short presentation about technology, followed by one-on-one support from volunteers. The sessions focus on everyday technology like cellphones, tablets, and laptops as well as tips on using social media and the internet.

“TechNTalk is a great way for older adults to build confidence with everyday technology and stay connected with the people and services that matter most to them,” said Minister of Social Development and Seniors Barb Ramsay. “These sessions offer a friendly, supportive space to learn new skills, ask questions and share experiences. I encourage everyone to register for a session in a community near them.”

To register for yourself, or on behalf of someone, contact the TechNTalk Program Coordinator at 902-218-2051 or seniors@gov.pe.ca.

The department is also seeking student volunteers for the sessions. For any high school and post-secondary students who are interested in learning more about this volunteer opportunity, please contact the TechNTalk Program Coordinator at 902-218-2051 or seniors@gov.pe.ca.
