The CAO (Shari) is out of the Council office Friday, Sept. 25 at a Municipal Administrators Meeting. We do have a new staff member through Skills PEI until early 2027, so Donnie MacInnis will be in the office! Also, I am trying to get some of my house painted, so when the weather is favourable for painting, I may be using up some overtime and swinging a paintbrush at home over the next few weeks. Please leave a message or send an email to admin@miltonvalepark.com if I am not at the hall. The Municipal Office is closed on September 30.

TENTATIVE – Saturday, Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. The Miltonvale Park Council is planning to hold a tree planting at the Miltonvale Community Park to plant 30 trees through the Greening Spaces Program… however, we are waiting for the province to respond with details on how we get the trees… so if you are interested in coming to help, please email admin@miltonvalepark.com and we will let you know as soon as we know!

The number of meals is limited, so Miltonvale Park residents have priority. Miltonvale Park shut-ins are eligible to have their meals delivered. Teams can register at admin@miltonvalepark.com by Thursday, Oct 1 and should include at least one Miltonvale Park resident, age 55+. Miltonvale Park is seeking a RETURNING OFFICER for part-time casual work for the November 2 municipal election, if one is necessary. • Qualifications: an election official must be a Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada, at least 18 years old, and ordinarily a resident of PEI for at least 6 months before the election
• Conflict of Interest: An election official must not be a person who is closely connected to a candidate (a family member, an agent, a business partner or an employer) (Section 18(3) of Municipal Election Regulations).
Wages for Returning Officer – Minimum Wage +$3
Ideally, available to attend training in Charlottetown – Tuesday, September 29
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and Tuesday, October 20 -10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. There is also training available online. The Returning Officer is given responsibility for administering the electoral process and appoints the other election officials, in writing, which may include: a Deputy Returning Officer (DRO), Election Clerk, and Poll Clerks.

Community Garden – When the volunteers or staff (Ryan or Donnie) pick vegetables, they will be available in coolers or at the veggie stand at the community garden, across Rte. 224 from the Milton Community Hall. At times, when specific vegetables are plentiful, people can U-Pick, if the signs indicate, or you have received permission from municipal staff. Otherwise, please don’t pick from the garden. Ryan can be reached at 902-218-8219. Feel free to U-pick flowers from the communal area. Please be mindful of others who may also want garden produce. The Garden was planted for the use of Miltonvale Park residents, and can also be used by nearby residents in need. The half closer to the Rustico Road has been planted by individuals, for their own use, so please do not disturb or pick vegetables in that portion.

Reminder – There are books and puzzles to borrow in the lobby at the Milton Community Hall, and a Little Free Library at the park.

Coyote Sighting Alert – North Milton Several coyotes were in someone’s yard on the Rustico Road recently. Please be vigilant your pets and children. If you see a coyote:
- Stay calm and keep your distance
- Do not approach, feed, or attempt to interact with it
- Keep dogs on a leash and pick up small pets if it is safe to do so
- Make yourself appear larger, make loud noises, and slowly back away if a coyote approaches
- Do not run
- Report any aggressive behaviour to the appropriate local authorities
DOGS on LEASH – Reminder – Dogs at the Community Park should be leashed, unless they are inside the dog park. There have been several instances this summer where unleashed dogs have attacked other dogs.

Quilt Lottery
Lottery tickets are available for a beautiful Remembrance Day handmade quilt! This is a fundraiser for the Milton Community Hall. Other prizes include two tickets for the annual lobster takeout and a $50 gift certificate that can be used for anything at the hall. The draw date is November 9, 2026, and tickets are $3 or 2/$5.
Black Light Theatre – We had a great black light theatre meeting recently – watch for details on how you can get involved! We have an idea for the theme for our show!
