Miltonvale Park & Milton Community Hall – Events – October 1, 2023

The Miltonvale Community Park is no longer staffed regularly. Any vegetables ONLY in the section that has the black weed barrier, or any fruit on the trees people can help themselves to them.

The Milton Community Hall is giving away their piano. If you are interested in providing it with a new home, please email miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com.  UPDATE – Piano found a new home in the municipality!

Coffee –Visit neighbors each Monday and Friday from 10 -11 a.m. at the Milton Hall. Coffee, tea, and snacks are available by donation of coin or treats. There will be Coffee on Oct 2.

This series of classes for The Resourceful Homeowner will take place on Mondays from 7:00 -8:30 (usually at the hall, unless there are conflicts) and other topics will be

Class four and five (hands on) – How to fix drywall and how to paint.

There will not be a class on Thanksgiving Monday! On Oct 16, the topic is silicone and home decor.

Class six: Guest speaker Peter McKenna – Basic plumbing and electrical

Class seven: Yard work and flower gardens

Class eight: Simple home updates, changing door knobs, caulking, spray foam, wallpaper, tiling.

Class nine: Cleaning, what and when.

Class ten: Guest speaker- Peter McKenna -Answering questions

Yoga with Leone – Tuesdays -NEW TIMES (30 min later!!)  9 a.m. Building Blocks of Yoga (mat) & 10:30 a.m. Chair Yoga. $6 Miltonvale Park residents and $7 for others.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meet at the Hall on Tuesdays at 6:15. For more information contact Joyce at 902-368-2055.

Weekly Wednesday Zumba Classes at take place at 5:30. The cost for Miltonvale Park residents is $2/class and non-residents are $5. Space is limited. Contact MiltonMVPs@gmail.com if you are interested.

Seniors Fitness Classes with Michele Gallant – at 9 a.m. and take place on Mondays and Fridays. They focus on balance and flexibility and are lots of fun! Cost $6. If you are interested, please email admin@miltonvalepark.com. There will be exercise class on Oct. 2.

There will be a community yard sale at the Milton Community Hall on Saturday, Oct 7th from 8-12. If you would like to rent a table ($15), please email the hall miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com. Set up can take place on Friday evening.

Monday, October 2 the Council office will be closed in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day. Exercise class (9 a.m.) coffee (10 a.m.) and line dancing are going ahead. Wear an orange shirt and come join in. (Line dancing limited to those who are pre-registered). The Responsible Home Owner course is also taking place on Oct. 2.

Wheatley River 4-H Club will be re-organizing on Wednesday, Oct 4 at 7 p.m. at the Milton Community Hall. If you are interested in learning more, visit www.pei4h.ca or please contact Shari at peishari@gmail.com

Thanksgiving, Monday Oct 9 there will not be exercise class, and the Council office will also be closed.

The North Milton WI will be meeting on Wednesday, Oct 11 (as the regular 2nd Monday is Thanksgiving) at 7 p.m. upstairs at the Milton Community Hall.  New members most welcome!

Thursday, October 12 will be a seniors fall tea at 2:30, funded by the PEI Seniors Secretariat. Please RSVP to miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com.

SOLD OUT!  Saturday, October 14 is a takeout ham cold plate hosted by the St. John’s Anglican Church at the Milton Hall.

Oct.15 is the deadline to buy tickets for the next 50-50 twice-monthly draw. You can buy tickets at the hall-or send an e-transfer to miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com. $3 each or 2/$5. The winner of the Sept. 30 draw was Joyce Blackett who won $82.50. Thanks to all for your support!

Thurs- Sat. Nov. 2-4 at 7:30 p.m. The Milton Community Players present Some Neighbours –Yesterday Once More – The Quintessential Sesquicentennial Review. A comical look at the past 150 years on PEI! Tickets are $18.

The office may be open other hours by chance or appointment. The Development Officer is in on Wednesdays from 10am-2pm or call the office to make an appointment.
