Coffee –Visit neighbors each Monday and Friday from 10 -11a.m. at the Milton Hall. Coffee, tea, and snacks are available by donation of coin or treats.

Monday-Friday -July 10-14 – Miltonvale Community Park – Ruth and Caroline are having arts and crafts week at the Park at 413 Sleepy Hollow Road. School-aged children are welcome to drop in for activities from 9-4 Monday-Friday, EXCEPT – the staff have lunch from 12-12:30 and are not available to supervise children over their lunch break. Parents/caregivers should complete the registration form for their children before dropping them off. Pre-school children require a parent/caregiver to be present. Card Parties – The hall hosts summer card parties (Auction) on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. $4.
Dog Training -Thursdays -at the Miltonvale Community Park 7 -8:30 pm. Space is limited. This is a program offered through the Milton Hall’s MVP (Most Valuable People) Program (funded through the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being) which is free for Miltonvale Park residents and by donation for others. Dog trainer, pet animal behaviorist and veterinarian, Bahrom Sabooki will explain dogs’ mindsets and behaviors, and teach the owners how to respond to these behaviors in an appropriate way. Please notice that to benefit as many families as possible, the dog training class needs to be booked by every Wednesday for each class, with priority given to those who have not attended previously. Emergency First Aid Course on Thursday, July 13 -9 -5 p.m. -This is an 8-hour Lifesaving course that includes training in the basics of CPR, First Aid & AED use. This course will give you the training and skills to respond to life-threatening emergencies with confidence. The registration charge is $30 for Miltonvale Park residents and $50 for others, thanks to the Milton Community Hall’s Most Valuable People Project (MVP), which has been funded by the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being. Come learn to Cha cha cha! Did you know Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive, and Paso Doble are International Style Waltzes? Learn to waltz with Susan and Jack Lessard to experience the dynamic beauty of these romantic dances. The Milton Community Hall will host dance classes on six Friday evenings, 7-8:30 p.m. beginning on July 21 (but not on Aug. 18). Free for Miltonvale Park residents, and by donation for others! Babysitting Course -for ages 11+ Thursday, July 27 from 9-4. Free for Miltonvale Park residents who participated in the Peanut Butter Ball Making! $10 for others and $30 for non-residents. This is a 7-hour course for children ages 11 years old and up. The babysitter course teaches potential babysitters how to find and prepare for babysitting jobs, help them care for the children and deal with difficult situations including emergencies, prepare safe and fun interactive activities, help them make safe choices and learn basic First Aid. The class will consist of breaks and require the student to bring a nut friendly lunch/snacks, water bottle as well as pencil/paper and a teddy/doll with a diaper. The student must be able to follow simple instructions and be on their best behaviour in order to complete the course and receive the certificate. ParticipACTION UPDATE – The top teams in each province are asked to submit information about their Community Challenge Program to help the judges choose the winners. Miltonvale Park tracked over 700 thousand minutes and had over 48 community members tracking physical activity with the ParticipACTION app, and is a finalist in PEI. The national and provincial winners will be announced in late July.
Canada Day – We found a ring at the park on Canada Day. If you lost one, please contact the Council office – admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090. Thanks to everyone who came out – to the Cornwall and Area Watershed Group for the Tree Giveaway, to Councillors, staff and volunteers who worked in the heat to help the day go so well! Special thanks to everyone who sorted and stashed garbage in the proper bins. The park was left in great shape after the event! Congratulations to Joy MacIntyre who was awarded the Volunteer of the Year. Joy volunteered at the Council office all spring – and also volunteers with the hall, the Central Queens Funeral Co-op, the Brookfield Pastoral Charge and Camp Keir.
T3 Bus Passes – The Municipal Office also has four student T3 transit passes for July. There is now a bus stop by the Milton Community Hall that goes to Cavendish and Charlottetown, and a new route that stops at the intersection of Royalty Road and Sleepy Hollow Road. Contact the Council office if you or someone you know would like one of the student passes. These were purchased through the ParticipACTION grant that Miltonvale Park received, along with the PEI National Park passes for 45 households!
