Municipal Achievement Award – 2025!

Miltonvale Park receives Municipal Achievement Award

October 21, 2025 – The Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park has received the 2025 Municipal Achievement Award from the Federation of PEI Municipalities (FPEIM).

“To say that the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park is active is an understatement,” says President Bruce MacDougall. “By promoting health and well-being, social connection, food security, inclusion, education, and emergency preparedness — the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park shows exactly how municipalities build communities and quality of life in Prince Edward Island.”

The Municipal Achievement Award recognizes outstanding commitment to improving the quality of life of residents.

The award nomination spoke to Miltonvale Park’s commitment to “building a vibrant, resilient, and welcoming municipality where residents can thrive.”

The municipality’s activities have included community meals, grocery-box giveaways, a community garden, drum circles, drag brunches, outrageous bingo, car shows, concerts, workshops, seniors’ bus tours, children’s bursaries, holiday celebrations, exercise classes, trail and greenspace improvements, and warming-centre upgrades.

On accepting the award, Mayor Hal Parker credited councillors and staff for their work. “The municipal councils of Miltonvale Park, past and present, have been forward-looking and totally engaged. None of this is possible without our staff and volunteers, particularly our CAO. She has been here the longest and helps the municipality hold events and activities to benefit our residents, all while being fiscally responsible,” he said. “This Municipal Achievement Award should be shared among all Miltonvale Park residents with pride.”
