Milton Hall – MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS & FRIDAYS 9 a.m -Exercise class – Michele Gallant leads Seniors Fitness and Balance exercises on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. for $6. Exercise videos on the big screen are used on Fridays for $1. DROP IN. FREE on Monday, Oct. 19 – sponsored by Chesapeake Suites & Townhomes. No class on Thanksgiving Monday.

Milton Hall – MONDAYS & FRIDAYS – 10 a.m -Coffee Club – Open to all – Admission by donation of treats or coins. FREE on Mondays, Oct. 19 – sponsored by Chesapeake Suites & Townhomes. No coffee on Thanksgiving Monday, Oct. 12.

MONDAYS – Line dancing with Margot at 1:30 p.m. Full.

Community Garden, across from Milton Community Hall  -MONDAY – 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. -Garden Green Thumb Hours and THURSDAYS 10- a.m.-12 -Garden Green Thumbs. When vegetables are picked, you can catch them from coolers at the entrance of the community garden. The produce is free for Miltonvale Park residents as well as for local folks who may be in need.

TUESDAYS – Square Dancing -Intermediate at 2 p.m. $5. For more information, contact Christine at CMR.Belanger@outlook.com. No classes on Oct. 6.

NEW TIMES! Milton Hall- TUESDAYS – YOGA with Leone 8:30 a.m. – Mat Yoga and 10 a.m. -Chair Yoga $10 -Miltonvale Park residents and $12 for others. Drop in.

NEW -Knit and Crochet Socials return on Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. beginning Oct. On Oct 7, from 1-3, there will be poppy tying with folks from the Kingston Legion, who are making poppy drapes for Remembrance Day. Everyone welcome!

ZUMBA – On Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., join Natalia for Zumba for dance/exercise inspired by Latin Music. $7

50-50 Draw – Tickets for the Oct. 16 draw are on sale now, the deadline is Oct. 15. E-transfer $3 (or 2 for $5) to miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com to get yours, or drop in to the Hall. Congrats to Connie MacDonald, who won $32.50 on the Oct. 1 draw.

STILL SPACE FOR THE COUNTRY CONCERT TONIGHT  -SUPPER is FULL!  October 1 – Seniors Supper Club (6 p.m.)  and Concert (7 p.m.) – Miltonvale Park folks who are 55+ are invited to Seniors Supper Club, on National Seniors Day, Thursday, October 1 at 6 p.m. at the Milton Community Hall.  Everyone is welcome to join us for a concert (RSVP to admin@miltonvalepark.com) with Crystal Paynter and Perry Batten at 7 p.m. Free for Miltonvale Park folks aged 55+ and by donation for others. NEW – Friday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. The Hands that Feed Us Tour – presented by the NFU. The Hands That Feed Us is a documentary film about what it takes to be a farmer, or why you can’t be one. https://thehandsthatfeedus.ca/ The documentary is on tour across Canada, with director Devon Cooke, hosting screenings and discussions in rural communities. FREE 

TODAY is the DEADLINE to REGISTER! Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10:30 a.m. – Car Rally – The Car Rally will allow teams of 3 or 4 to explore Miltonvale Park.  Teams can register at admin@miltonvalepark.com by Thursday, Oct 1 and should include at least one Miltonvale Park resident, age 55+. The car rally is FREE for Miltonvale Park residents and by donation for others, and includes a cornboil at lunch. Sign up at admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090. Sunday, Oct 4 – 2 -5 p.m. Celebration of Life honouring Wayne DeCoste, who lived in North Milton.

NEW PAGE FOR ELECTION INFORMATION –Wednesday, October 7 – Nominations open for Mayor and Councillors for Miltonvale Park. Close of Nominations -Friday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, is Election Day. The municipality has a page for election information on the website, which is https://miltonvalepark.com/municipal-information/election-2018/ (but it really has 2026 info!), and will be updated as the elections office opens on October 6, and more information becomes available). Wednesday, Oct 7, -Poppy typing 1:30 -3:30 – Join volunteers with the Kingston Legion to tie poppies to make poppy drapes for Remembrance Day. Drop in!

Saturday, Oct. 10 -Fundraising Yard and Craft Sale 9-2. Admission $2. (FYI -This is a rental, so is not a Milton Hall event, so we are not renting the tables!)

Friday, October 16, 1: 30 p.m. Absolute Beginner Line Dancing #2- Join Margot Postma to learn some basic steps. $5. This is a continuation of the class in Sept. Please register at admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090.

Close of Municipal Election Nominations -Friday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m

Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. An Evening with Elvis starring Jonah Anderson and The New Blue Suede Band (Johnny Ross, Jesse MacCormac Kendell Perry, and Em Peters), The Fabulous Blue Suedettes (Jennifer Carson and Marylynn Côté), and the amazing William McCarthy! Tickets are $30 adults and $15 children and can be reserved at miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com.

Saturday and Sunday, November 7-8 – Milton Community Hall Christmas Craft Fair. Saturday, 9-3:30 and Sunday from 10-3:30. Admission $2. 

Thursday, Nov. 12, 6:00-7:30 – Holiday Decor – Join Sue Pitchforth as she shares inspiring festive ideas to get your home ready for the Holiday Season! Everything from decorating your front porch, fireplace mantel, and living spaces to entertaining and even ideas to wrap those special gifts! Also, she shares a sneak peek at beautifully decorated homes that have appeared on Christmas Home Tours – so much festive inspiration! Sue will also share some exciting news – just in time for Christmas gift shopping! As always, there will be takeaway bags and a festive Door Prize too! NOTES:

Community Garden – When the volunteers or staff (Ryan or Donnie) pick vegetables, they will be available in coolers or at the veggie stand at the community garden, across Rte. 224 from the Milton Community Hall. At times, when specific vegetables are plentiful, people can U-Pick, if the signs indicate, or you have received permission from municipal staff. Otherwise, please don’t pick from the garden. Ryan can be reached at 902-218-8219. Feel free to U-pick flowers from the communal area. Please be mindful of others who may also want garden produce. The Garden was planted for the use of Miltonvale Park residents, and can also be used by nearby residents in need. The half closer to the Rustico Road has been planted by individuals, for their own use, so please do not disturb or pick vegetables in that portion. 

Miltonvale Community Park – The park is no longer staffed. If you notice issues, please contact the Municipal Office at 902-368-3090, admin@miltonvalepark.com, or 902-213-0597.

Reminder – There are books and puzzles to borrow in the lobby at the Milton Community Hall, and a Little Free Library at the park.

Coyote Sighting Alert – North Milton Several coyotes were in someone’s yard on the Rustico Road recently. Please be vigilant regarding your pets and children. If you see a coyote:

  • Stay calm and keep your distance
  • Do not approach, feed, or attempt to interact with it
  • Keep dogs on a leash and pick up small pets if it is safe to do so
  • Make yourself appear larger, make loud noises, and slowly back away if a coyote approaches
  • Do not run
  • Report any aggressive behaviour to the appropriate local authorities

DOGS on LEASH – Reminder – Dogs at the Community Park should be leashed, unless they are inside the dog park. There have been several instances this summer where unleashed dogs have attacked other dogs.

 Quilt Lottery
Lottery tickets are available for a beautiful Remembrance Day handmade quilt! This is a fundraiser for the Milton Community Hall. Other prizes include two tickets for the annual lobster takeout and a $50 gift certificate that can be used for anything at the hall. The draw date is November 9, 2026, and tickets are $3 or 2/$5.

Black Light Theatre – We had a great black light theatre meeting recently – watch for details on how you can get involved! We have an idea for the theme for our show!

NOTICE TO ELECTORS FOR COUNCIL NOMINATIONS

MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT

PURSUANT TO SECTION 42 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT, AND SUBSECTION 25(1) OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION REGULATIONS

Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park that a Municipal Election will be held on November 2, 2026, to elect the Mayor and six Councillors for Miltonvale Park for the term of office terminating on the 6th day of December 2030.

The nomination period for the council positions noted above opens on Wednesday, October 7, and closes at 2:00 p.m. on Nomination Day, Friday, October 16, 2026.

Nominations can be received at the election office, at Milton Community Hall, 7 New Glasgow Rd. Rte. 224, North Milton by the Municipal Electoral Officer (MEO) or Returning Officer at the following times, during Municipal Office Hours, on or after October 7.

·   Mondays 10-5

·   Tuesdays 1-6:30

·   Wednesdays 9-5

·   Fridays 10 a.m. -12 p.m., except Friday, October 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Candidates are responsible for confirming their eligibility to be nominated prior to submitting their nomination form.

For voters, the deadline for correcting elector information shall be no later than 11:59 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
