NEW -Saturday, April 25 from 1-2:30 pm-Fruit Tree Organic Pest Control Workshop. Lisa Stroh from Wild Acres Farm and Bakery will speak on how to manage common pests of fruit trees organically and how to provide good fertilization to promote healthy trees. There will be time for questions and discussion. As a follow-up to Miltonvale Park’s pruning workshop last year, this workshop will be held at Wild Acres Farm, 157 Kilkenny Rd, Harrington, inside their dome. Please dress for seasonal weather and bring your collapsible chair and water, if desired. Please park on the road as parking is limited, and we need to leave parking spaces for her bakery customers beside her store. It is not too late to order trees and bushes. Space is limited, and you must pre-register to attend. Email colesernie@bellaliant.net to register. There is no cost for this as Lisa is donating her time and location, but Ernie recommends checking out her bakery shop, especially her sourdough bread.

Jonah Anderson and the Blue Suedettes (Jennifer Carson and MaryLynn Côté) will sing the greatest hits and maybe a few new ones! Thursday, April 30, 5 p.m. -Come Try Pilates with Emma – Come Try Pilates with Emma! This class is for individuals of all ages and focuses on STOTT Pilates principles to help build strength, flexibility, and endurance, while improving posture and body awareness. Emma is a Physiotherapist with a passion for teaching and brings a supportive, inclusive approach to every class. Exercises can be modified to suit all ability levels, making this class appropriate for both beginners and those with prior Pilates experience. Free for Miltonvale Park residents. Monday, June 15 – PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls – 7:30 p.m. Field of Folk – $30 (plus fees and tax)– Step into a night of heartfelt melodies at “Fields of Folk,” Featuring PEI’s own Logan Richard, Ontario’s JD Crosstown, and Saskatchewan’s Emily Dubois (with Gammons and Knorr). It’s a cross-Canadian celebration of folk music!
We’ll begin in the prairies with the slick, rolling flatland fiddle of Emily Dubois – Cruise into Ontario for gritty country blues and harp with JD Crosstown – and finish on the coast with PEI’s newly minted songwriter of the year, the soulful Logan Richard.

DEPUTY MUNICIPAL ELECTORAL OFFICER -Municipal Elections are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026. Council is seeking a person to be the Deputy Municipal Electoral Officer (DMEO). The Dep. EMO acts in place of the MEO if they are not available. The Dep. MEO must be a resident of Prince Edward Island, who is a Canadian citizen or is legally entitled to work in Canada; at least 18 years of age; and has been ordinarily resident in the province for at least the six-month period immediately preceding the appointment. The DMEO also cannot be closely connected with anyone who is planning to run in the election.
The work would mostly take place in October and early November, with training at some point. The wage would be $21.30/hour. If you are interested, please reach out to admin@miltonvalepark.com ASAP.

The Municipal Election Regulations:
Miltonvale Community Park – The park is closed for the winter, but will be checked sporadically. If you are there and notice it needs attention, please contact admin@miltonvalepark.com, 902-368-3090 or 902-213-0597. The walking trail and parking lot have recently been paved. Please do not drive vehicles on the paved trail. An accessible drum set was installed in late fall near the park entrance – check it out on the next fine day!
The local 4-H Clubs still have some reversible cat and dog bandanas at the hall. $5
Reminder – There are books and puzzles to borrow in the lobby at the Milton Community Hall.
Municipal Elections – November 2, 2026 – The PEI Coalition for Women’s Leadership (CWL) is offering a Municipal Training Series aiming to develop capacity in municipal politics across PEI. The Municipal Training Series will be a cohort series of six workshops, focused on supporting individuals who intend to get involved in municipal politics. The sessions will be open to members of the public who want to run for elected positions, as well as people who want to support someone else’s campaign. The aim is to demystify politics and reduce barriers to participation, recognizing that knowledge will promote political participation and strengthen our Island.
