The Council Office is closed on Easter Monday.

On Monday, April 6, there will be coffee at 10 a.m., and line dancing in the afternoon.

Tuesday, April 7 at 1 p.m. – “More Plants More Health” Cooking Presentation on Grains, Nuts and Seeds with Margaret Prouse.  Free. Register with miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com.   Funded by the Wellness Grant Program of the Province of Prince Edward Island.

NEW – No change in DEVELOPMENT OFFICE HOURS– STILL TUESDAYS! Mirko Terrazas will still be in the office for his regular Tuesday 10-2 office hours. Friday, April 10 at 9 a.m. – Come Try Zumba Gold – a gentler pace for the Young at Heart. $5.

Saturday, April  11 at 6:30 p.m. – Fascinating Ladies of Country –Tickets are $15 OR  pay what you wish, as the hall board recognizes we are in difficult economic times, and wants to have as many people attend as possible. Tickets can be reserved at MiltonCommunityHall@gmail.com  and can be purchased through e-transfer, cash or cheques at the hall, or pay at the door.  It is a celebratory musical revue, featuring music from some of the most iconic and influential female country artists of the last century to present-day. Presented by the Young at Heart Theatre. The show also highlights the women’s liberation movement and the way these artists expressed themselves to help empower women around the world.

Some of the songs featured include 9 to 5, Delta Dawn, Fancy, Any Man of Mine, and Miss Chatelaine. The show is written, compiled, and directed by Catherine O’Brien with musical direction and arrangements by Brielle Ansems. The cast features talented PEI artists Olivia Blacquiere, Stephanie Ross, and Haley Zavo.  P.S. Sunset is about 7:55 p.m, and the show is about an hour long -so if you don’t like to drive in the dark, it shouldn’t be a problem! 

NEW – Monday, April 13 at 6 p.m. Native Wildflower Pollinator Gardens – Join Veronica Jendrick, Coordinator – Cornwall and Area Watershed Group to learn more about native pollinator gardens. Free. Presented by the North Milton WI and the Milton MVPS project. RSVP to MiltonMVPS@gmail.com.

DETAILS -Saturday, April 19 – Emergency Animal Response Team Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction – Milton Community Hall. Chili supper, roll, beverage and dessert. $15. Take out from 3-5 p.m. Eat-in from 6-8 p.m. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options. There will be a silent auction, 50-50 draw and door prizes as well as guest speaker Dr. Sharon Creiger. Monday, April 20- Plant-Based Perfection Series-  Nut meat 4 p.m. RSVP to gardenatMVP@gmail.com. Free, but the class size is limited to 12, so Miltonvale Park residents have priority registration until April 13. If you are a non-resident, register now, and your seat will be confirmed after the 13th. Register at gardenatMvP@gmail.com. Funded by the Province of Prince Edward Island, through a Live Well PEI grant from the Department of Health and Wellness for a Milton Community Hall project titled More Plants More Health. The final session in the Mondays at 4 p.m. Plant-Based Perfection Series is May 4 – Tofu.

Tuesday, April 21 – Municipal office hours will be 4:30-6:30 as the CAO is at a course. The Development Officer should be in the office from at least 10-2.

NEW DATE  -Tuesday, April 21 – 1 p.m. More Plants More Health – Cooking Presentation with Home Economist Margaret Prouse. Salads, Sprouts, and Microgreens. Free. Register at miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com. Next classes are Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Learn about Lentils and Legumes on May 12 and Fruit Salads and Desserts on May 26.

Friday, April 24 – Exercise Class Cancelled. If coffee is held, it will be upstairs.  Watch for details.

Thursday, April 30, 5 p.m. -Come Try Pilates with Emma – Come Try Pilates with Emma! This class is for individuals of all ages and focuses on STOTT Pilates principles to help build strength, flexibility, and endurance, while improving posture and body awareness. Emma is a Physiotherapist with a passion for teaching and brings a supportive, inclusive approach to every class. Exercises can be modified to suit all ability levels, making this class appropriate for both beginners and those with prior Pilates experience. Free for Miltonvale Park residents. Friday, May 1 at 9 a.m. Zumba Gold – $5

Monday, June 15 – PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls – 7:30 p.m. Field of Folk – $30  (plus fees and tax)– Step into a night of heartfelt melodies at “Fields of Folk,” Featuring PEI’s own Logan Richard, Ontario’s JD Crosstown, and Saskatchewan’s Emily Dubois (with Gammons and Knorr). It’s a cross-Canadian celebration of folk music!

We’ll begin in the prairies with the slick, rolling flatland fiddle of Emily Dubois – Cruise into Ontario for gritty country blues and harp with JD Crosstown – and finish on the coast with PEI’s newly minted songwriter of the year, the soulful Logan Richard.

  • Exercise class – Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays at 9 a.m. Michele Gallant leads senior chair and balance class on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout April. Cost $6.  No need to register – just drop in! Most Fridays have folks exercising together to online exercise videos for $1. 
  • Coffee Club – Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. Open to all – Admission by donation of treats or coins. 
  • Monday Line Dancing (FULL) at 1:30  
  • YOGA with Leone 
    • TUESDAYS  8:30 a.m. – Mat. and 10 a.m. -Chair  – cost $10 for Miltonvale Park residents,$12 for others (Drop-in) on Tuesdays.

NOTES:

SUMMER JOBS – Please visit https://miltonvalepark.com/summer-jobs-2026/ for information on summer positions. Some are contingent on funding and funding programs, so there is currently no end date specified to apply.

 Miltonvale Community Park – The park is closed for the winter, but will be checked sporadically. If you are there and notice it needs attention, please contact admin@miltonvalepark.com, 902-368-3090 or 902-213-0597. The walking trail and parking lot have recently been paved. Please do not drive vehicles on the paved trail. An accessible drum set was installed in late fall near the park entrance – check it out on the next fine day! 

The local 4-H Clubs still have some reversible cat and dog bandanas at the hall. $5

Reminder – There are books and puzzles to borrow in the lobby at the Milton Community Hall. 

Municipal Elections – November 2, 2026  – The PEI Coalition for Women’s Leadership (CWL) is offering a Municipal Training Series aiming to develop capacity in municipal politics across PEI. The Municipal Training Series will be a cohort series of six workshops, focused on supporting individuals who intend to get involved in municipal politics. The sessions will be open to members of the public who want to run for elected positions, as well as people who want to support someone else’s campaign. The aim is to demystify politics and reduce barriers to participation, recognizing that knowledge will promote political participation and strengthen our Island. Register here for the Municipal Training Series. The municipality will be appointing a Municipal Elections Officer this spring. If you are interested in learning more, please contact admin@miltonvalepark.com.

The Milton Community Hall is an Emergency Warming Center, so can usually be opened in inclement weather (depending on bookings). To be sure it is open before setting out -call 902-566-3154 (hall) or 903-368-3090 (municipality), check Facebook, or text 902-213-0597. The municipality also has some portable generators. If you might like to borrow one in a power outage, please contact admin@miltonvalepark.com.
