NOTES:
COMMUNITY GARDEN UPDATE – Do you want to be involved in the Community Garden this year? Please sign up here – https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Garden26
The main garden is across from the Milton Community Hall and there is a smaller garden at the Miltonvale Community Park. Ryan is going to oversee the garden again this year -but we also have funding for a youth to primarily work at the garden, along with other municipal tasks.
SUMMER JOBS – Please visit https://miltonvalepark.com/summer-jobs-2026/ for information on summer positions. Some are contingent on funding and funding programs, so there is currently no end date specified to apply. We would love to have applications as soon as possible. Positions could include at the community park, the garden, working at the hall, assisting the CAO for municipal duties and an outreach person to work with the Association of Rural Community Halls.
SURVEY on FOOD SECURITY – PEI residents aged 18 and over are invited to take part in a short online survey on livelihoods and food security in PEI. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, includes 24 questions, and does not collect identifying information. Participants can also enter a weekly draw for a $25 Sobeys gift card, while helping support research on food security challenges across PEI communities. https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=9KUeeE99lUaXGGaCg81bvlubXWaVQSlAm5SlRbY9Pc9URUhPMTJMVDNRUEFRV00wMzZWUFhENFhPUy4u&origin=QRCode&route=shorturl

Municipal Elections – November 2, 2026 – The PEI Coalition for Women’s Leadership (CWL) is offering a Municipal Training Series aiming to develop capacity in municipal politics across PEI. The Municipal Training Series will be a cohort series of six workshops, focused on supporting individuals who intend to get involved in municipal politics. The sessions will be open to members of the public who want to run for elected positions, as well as people who want to support someone else’s campaign. The aim is to demystify politics and reduce barriers to participation, recognizing that knowledge will promote political participation and strengthen our Island. Register here for the Municipal Training Series.
